This method of connection is used for transceivers with MINIDIN 8, FIF-232 CAT interface. The CT-62 cable is not necessary. Using this method, the RIG is controlled and keyed from PC via COM or LPT port and the BAND DATA is collected serially.
Models FT840, 900 needs FT5 cable with MINIDIN6 plugs.
