Two virtual COM ports for USB Interface
Some Windows based loggers are not able to share single virtual COM port for radio and CW/PTT. You can solve this problem with microHAM USB Device Router software.
Installation guide:
1. Unplug USB Interface from USB port of your computer.
2. Download, install and launch USB Device Router. Download it here.
3. Plug interface to the USB port.
4. Hardware wizard will appear. Do not let him to install driver automatically.
Choose Install from specific location.
5. Choose directory where USB Device Router has been installed next ..\drivers\d2xx.
By default full path is C:\Program Files\microHAM\drivers\d2xx
6. Click Next and ignore certification message on WinXP. Choose Continue Anyway, next Finish.
7. Now you should see your interface at USB Device Router window with green check mark on the interface tab.
8. From top menu choose Virtual Port and create two COM ports. Do NOT create COM ports with numbers which already exist on your computer. For example if your computer have two hardware COM ports COM1 and COM2 then create COM3 and COM4. If you have installed additional serial card with COM3,4 create COM5 and COM6. If your logger does not support CW/PTT at the same port, create third COM port.
9. Assign created COM ports for radio and keying.
10. Start your logger and enjoy new operation.
Uninstalling:
If you wish revert to the original driver first uninstall USB Device Router from Start menu and next install original driver from installation CD-ROM.
